Militants escape after exchanging fire in Shopian | KNO

Shopian, December 03 (KNO) : Militants on Monday managed to escape after brief exchange of fire in Sangran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on early morning.Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 34RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Sangran in the wee hours after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area. “As the joint team of intensified searches towards suspected house the hiding militants inside house fired upon government forces triggering an encounter,” sources told KNO.Two to three militants were believed to be trapped in the area. However, they managed to escape after initial exchange of fire taking advantage of darkness, sources said.(KNO)
